The History of Daloma Caffè

The Bizzarri family’s history in the world of coffee began in 1948, when Ornello Bizzarri launched his business in Perugia, a city of art in central Italy rich in traditions. The business has evolved over time thanks to the second generation, led by Umberto, who in turn passed the torch to his sons Emanuele and Lorenzo. The two entrepreneurs channeled their industry expertise and passion for coffee into their respective companies, Caffè Umbria and Daloma Caffè, further expanding the family business.

Caffè Umbria was founded in Seattle, in the northern United States, in 2002 and contributed its expertise to the creation of Daloma Caffè, based in Perugia.
The Caffè Umbria logo is the Etruscan Arch, the gateway to the city of Perugia and a symbol of history, culture, and traditions; the Daloma Caffè logo, on the other hand, is the Space Needle, the emblem of Seattle—a cosmopolitan, youthful city in a constant state of cultural ferment.

Both companies roast their coffee using methods passed down through three generations: today, the same blends are served from the U.S. to Europe, in the finest restaurants and in the homes of the customers who have chosen us.
